Zusammenfassung

Diese auch als Leukämien bezeichnete Krankheitsgruppe ist durch eine Ansammlung pathologischer Leukozyten im Knochenmark gekennzeichnet. Hierdurch kann es zu einer Knochenmarkinsuffizienz, einem Anstieg der Leukozytenzahlen im peripheren Blut* und zur Infiltration anderer Organe kommen. Zu den häufigen, aber nicht immer vorhandenen Kennzeichen dieser Krankheiten zählen: Nachweis von abnormen Leukozyten im peripheren Blut*, Anstieg der Leukozytengesamtzahl, Zeichen einer Knochenmarkinsuffizienz (d. h. Anämie, Neutropenie, Thrombopenie) sowie Befall anderer Organe (z. B. Leber, Milz, Lymphknoten, Meningen, Hirn, Haut, Hoden).
