Abstract
At first the question is raised whether a comparison between the brains of man and those of mammals can explain the special efficiency of the human brain in regard of its intelligence. Allometry can answer this question partly by means of the cephalization coefficient, as the value k is the highest in man (Table 1 and 16). This top position is, however, not clear enough; that is the reason why an attempt is being made to solve this problem by comparing the human brain with that of the almost equally large or even larger brain of some dolphins and the elephant.
