Abstract
The integration of the research activities of the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum into international research concepts is documented by the high percentage (approx. 50%) of joint publications with scientists from other research institutes in Germany and abroad. The research program of the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum comprises cooperation with researchers from a total of 29 countries. On the national level there is cooperation with more than 30 universities and 70 other research institutes. The cooperation with the University of Heidelberg is centered around the joint clinical-experimental projects within the Heidelberg/Mannheim Tumor Center. By 1992, this cooperation could look back on 12 years of history. Of special interest in the field of fundamental research is the collaboration within the special research programs of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, namely, the special research program Nr. 229 “Molecular mechanisms of gene expression and differentiation” and Nr. 123 “Stochastic mathematical models”.
