Zusammenfassung

Die hohe Frequenz an schweren Sehbehinderungen durch die altersabhängige Makuladegeneration hat in den letzten Jahrzehnten zu den unterschiedlichsten Therapieempfehlungen geführt. Der behandelnde Arzt wird in Ermangelung anderer therapeutischer Möglichkeiten bei vielen Patienten mit altersabhängiger Makuladegeneration mit dem Bedürfnis nach einer einfach durchzuführenden, medikamentösen Therapie konfrontiert.
