Zusammenfassung

1–10% der im Krankenhaus entbundenen Neugeborenen bedürfen einer aktiven Form der Atemstimulation bis hin zur kardiopulmonalen Wiederbelebung; in Abhängigkeit vom Geburtsgewicht kann der Anteil noch deutlich höher liegen. Es ist wünschenswert, dass alle im Kreißsaal Tätigen die physiologischen Grundlagen der Adaptation des Neugeborenen an das extrauterine Leben verstehen, Prädiktoren für eine mögliche Beeinträchtigung des Neugeborenen erkennen und Wiederbelebungsmaßnahmen einleiten können. Da im deutschsprachigen Raum Anästhesisten an der Primärversorgung Neugeborener beteiligt oder für diese verantwortlich sind, vermittelt dieser Beitrag Grundlagen zur Erkennung von Risikofaktoren, zur schnellen Beurteilung des Neugeborenen, erster Basismaßnahmen und die Richtlinien zur Wiederbelebung Neugeborener. Dabei dienen die aktuellen Empfehlungen und Algorithmen der im International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) zusammengeschlossenen maßgeblichen internationalen Fachgesellschaften als Evidenz-basierte Grundlage. Desweiteren werden die Besonderheiten der Reanimation Schwangerer kurz dargestellt.
