Aktuelle Untersuchungen deuten auf eine neue strategische Orientierung in den Unternehmungen hin: Nicht mehr Kostensenkung und Personal-Reduktion werden als die wesentlichen Nutzenfaktoren bei der Einführung von Informationstechnologie vom Management gesehen, sondern Faktoren wie eine Verbesserung der Konkurrenzfähigkeit, der Management-Effektivität, des Kundendienstes und/oder der Produktqualität.
