Zusammenfassung
Eines der häufigsten diagnostischen Probleme in der Urologie ist die Abklärung einer Mikrohämaturie. Hierbei gilt die Hämaturie als ein Indikator für viele urologische, nephrologische und internistische Erkrankungen. Besondere Bedeutung gewinnt die Feststellung einer Mikrohämaturie aufgrund der Möglichkeit, urologische Malignome und insbesondere das Harnblasenkarzinom frühzeitig zu entdecken. Interessant ist in diesem Zusammenhang, daß die Mortalität an Harnblasenkarzinomen kontinuierlich um ca. 1,2–1,5% jährlich angestiegen ist. Inzwischen sind Urothelkarzinome mit etwa 11000 Neuerkrankungen pro Jahr (alte Bundesländer) neben dem Prostatakarzinom das häufigste urologische Malignom und damit bei Männern das vierthäufigste Karzinom überhaupt (Helpap 1993; BGA 1991). Hieraus ergeben sich praktisch-klinische Schlußfolgerungen von großer Bedeutung.
