Zusammenfassung

Die Genetik spielt in der Transfusionsmedizin für das Verständnis der Entstehung von Blutgruppen und ihrer Wirkungsweise als immunologisch relevante Alloantigene eine nicht zu überschätzende Rolle. Im folgenden werden einige wichtige Grundbegriffe der Genetik und ihre molekularen Grundlagen synoptisch dargestellt. Auf die Vererbung der einzelnen Blutgruppenmerkmale wird in den entsprechenden Kapiteln dieses Buches eingegangen.
