Zusammenfassung
Unter dem Begriff »Thrombophilie« werden diejenigen Störungen zusammengefasst, bei denen mit einem erhöhten Risiko für venöse Thrombosen und Embolien zu rechnen ist. Im Allgemeinen wird die Bezeichnung Thrombophilie für die Thromboseneigung des venösen Schenkels des Gefäßssystems verwendet, bei bestimmten Formen der Thrombophilie können jedoch auch gehäuft Thrombosen in der arteriellen Gefäßbahn auftreten, insbesondere in den Hirnarterien und Herzkranzgefäßen.
