95% sind Plattenepithelkarzinome. Sie können nach Broders in 4 Arten klassifiziert werden. Ungefähr 5% werden als maligne Melanome, Basalzellkarzinome, Sarkome, Penismetastasen und Übergangsepithelkarzinome der Urethra beschrieben.
