Zusammenfassung

Das akute Nierenversagen ist als klinisches Syndrom charakterisiert durch den plötzlichen Ausfall der exkretorischen Nierenfunktion und sie daraus resultierende Retention harnpflichtiger Substanzen. Pathognomonisch ist somit die akut auftretende Azotämie; eine kritische Vermindetung der Harnmenge (Oligurie = < 400 ml/24h) wird dagegen nur in ca. 2/3 der Fälle beobachtet.
