Abstract

Lithobius forficatus (length ca. 3 cm) is one of the most common Chilopoda to be found in Europe. The species is recognized at a glance by every zoologist and is pointed out on field trips as one of the most representative members of the Chilopoda when individuals are produced from beneath stones or tree bark (Fig. 94F, G).
