Abstract
As it follows from the process flow diagram illustrated in Fig. 5.1, production process of materials with spirally reinforced fillers differs from other processes of manufacturing composites, e.g. unidirectional ones. The distinguishing feature consists in an additional operation of spiral winding of the main reinforcement. When large diameter fibers are used in spirally reinforced elements, e.g. boron, they are impregnated upon winding, further processing stages being analogous to those of unidirectional filler. In the case of a finefibrous filler on the base of carbon, organic or glass fibers, operation regimes of manufacturing spirally reinforced elements and choice of winding operation order within the technological sequence influence other process operations, including impregnation, reinforcement tension, product forming and solidification.
