Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel sollen Wesen, Zweck, Standardisierung, Validität, Reliabilität und psychometrische Grundlagen für die Interpretation der „Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests“ (SIPT, Sensorische Integrations- und Praxietests; Ayres 1989b) erläutert werden.
Tests ergeben Zahlen, und Zahlen können anderes zum Ausdruck bringen als Worte oder Konzepte. In Ergo- und Physiotherapie sind Messungen von zentraler Bedeutung, da sie differenzierte Diagnosen und „Gewinn- und Verlustrechnungen“ ermöglichen und dabei helfen, den Status des Patienten zu bestimmen. So lassen sich Behandlungsergebnisse prognostizieren, Theorien entwickeln und überprüfen und fachübergreifend Informationen vermitteln. All dies wäre ohne irgendeine Art von Messung kaum möglich.
