Abstract

This presentation is focused on explaining the significance of Accreditation and Certification for Laboratories and illustrates the usefulness of both procedures. The implementation of these procedures in laboratories is described, pointing out their similarities and differences. Reference is made to some recent publications. The discussion reflects the existing practice and gives answers to questions that it raises.
