Abstract

The instant color film based on o-sulfonamidophenol dye releasers was marketed by Fuji Photo Film under the name FI-10 in 1981 [1]. The chemistry of o-sulfonamidophenol dye releasers is still effective by continuous improvement so as to be employed in the direct successor “FOTORAMA” system as well as in a recent integral instant photographic system named “Instax” in 1998 [2]. The design, evaluation, and synthesis of o-sulfonamidophenol dye releasers have been described in a review by Fujita [3] and in an account written by Fujita, Koyama, and Ono [1].
