Kurzfassung

Mit dem BTX-Rechnerverbund ist BTX-Teilnehmern der Zugriff auf Anwendungsprogramme in externen Rechnern möglich. Die BTX-Protokolle im Rechnerverbund werden durch Standardsoftware der Computerhersteller realisiert. Das Videotex Interface Program (VIP) bietet eine flexible Schnittstelle zwischen der Standard BTX-Software auf der IBM Serie/1 und Anwendungsprogrammen auf verschiedenen Hostrechnern. Es stellt die Zuordnung zwischen BTX-Seite und Anwendungsprogramm über eine einfache Tabellensteuerung her. Auf der Serie/1 ist keine Programmierung erforderlich, sondern lediglich die Definition des BTX-Dialogs über die VIP-Tabellen.
