Mit dem Begriff des präfrontalen Kortex wird der vordere Teil des Frontallappens bezeichnet, ein etwas unglücklicher Begriff, nachdem der Kortex, um den es geht, ja nicht vor dem Frontallappen liegt, sondern Teil des Frontallappens ist.
