Zusammenfassung

Das Studium der Literatur zum Thema Knie zeigt, daß es bedeutende Unterschiede im Gebrauch vieler Begriffe und Definitionen gibt (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons 1984; American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons 1985; American Medical Association 1966; Apley 1980; Feagin 1988; Hughston u. Barrett 1983; Hughston et al. 1976 a, b; Kennedy et al. 1978; We. Müller 1983; Noyes u. Grood 1988; Wang u. Walker 1974). Diese Unterschiede der Begriffbestimmungen erschweren die Kommunikation. Präzise definierte Grundbegriffe, die die Dynamik und die Kinematik des Knies beschreiben, sind Voraussetzung für das Verständnis der normalen und abnormen Beweglichkeit und Verschieblichkeit des Kniegelenks (Noyes et al. 1989). Beschreibung und Messung des normalen Gelenkspiels sowie abnormer Bewegungsgrenzen in bezug zur klar definierten Neutralstellung sind Voraussetzung zur exakten Erfassung der kompartimentären Kniekinematik (Stäubli 1990).
