Zusammenfassung
Es handelt sich um Thrombosen der tiefen Schultergürtel- und Arm-Venen: V. brachiocephalica, V. subclavia, V. axillaris, V. brachialis, Unterarm- und Handvenen (Abb. 39.1). Im Vergleich zu Thrombosen der unteren Extremität sind sie selten. Bedingt durch eine deutliche Zunahme der katheterinduzierten Thrombosen werden sie jedoch heute häufiger gesehen als früher. So wird in den wenigen älteren Arbeiten, die über konsekutive Patientenserien berichten, der Anteil der Schulter-Arm-Venenthrombosen an der Gesamtzahl aller beobachteten Venenthrombosen noch mit 1,7% angegeben (Barker et al. 1941), 1,3% (Coon und Willis 1967) und 2,3% (Lindblad et al. 1988), wobei die Aufschlüsselung nach Jahrgängen bei Lindblad et al. (1988) bereits den Häufigkeitsanstieg der sekundären Thrombosen ab ca. 1980 erkennen läßt. In der PHLEKO-Studie schließlich betrafen bereits 4,4% aller beobachteten Venenthrombosen die obere Extremität (Martin und Brors 1995).
