Abstract
Work on phase relationships of the system Fe-P has been reviewed by Hansen [A], Elliott [B] and Shunk [C]. Figure 48 shows the modified equilibrium diagram which includes a reinvestigation of the temperature range above 900°C and the composition range 0.9–21.5 at.% P by Wachtel et al. [1, 2], a new determination of the γ-loop by Lorenz and Fabritius [3] and new information of the α phase boundary by Doan and Goldstein [4], Hofmann et al. [5] and Takayama et al. [11]. Fig.48 is consistent with an assessment of the thermochemical properties of the various phases published by Spencer and Kubaschewski [6]. More recent high-temperature calorimetric measurements permitted Schürmann et al. [12] to improve the thermochemieal data of [6] leaving the position of the phase boundaries essentially the same as Fig. 48.
