Fe—Bi Iron—Bismuth

IRON—Binary Phase Diagrams

Abstract

Stable intermetallic phases in the system Fe-Bi are not formed. Mutual solubilities in the liquid and solid states are very small. Apparently reliable values for the solubility of Fe in liquid Bi have been supplied by Weeks [1]. He applied a sampling and chemical analysis technique of high purity Fe and 99.999% Bi. His results may be expressed by the equation:

$$\lg (at.\% Fe) = - 3,490T^{ - 1} - 2.26.$$
