Zusammenfassung

Schon Hippokrates beobachtete etwa im Jahr 400 v. Chr. ein Fieber, das verursacht wird durch eine Materie, die fault. Eine „Fäulnis des Blutes“, die ein kontinuierliches Fieber bedingt, wurde von Ibn Sina (Avicenna) um 1000 n. Chr. beschrieben.
