Die Atomspektroskopie beruht auf der Absorption, Emission oder Fluoreszenz von Atomen oder Elementionen. Zwei Bereiche des Spektrums liefern atomare Information — der UV/VIS- und der Röntgenbereich. Der erste wird in diesem und im nächsten Kapitel, der zweite in Kap. 15 behandelt.
