Zusammenfassung

Das körpereigene Abwehrsystem setzt sich aus mehreren Komponenten zusammen. Die ersten Barrieren gegenüber einer Infektion sind die Haut und Schleimhäute sowie deren Sekrete. Sollten Keime diese Hürden überwinden, treffen sie auf die unspezifische Abwehr, bestehend aus dem Granulozyten-, Monozyten- und Makrophagensystem sowie den Zytokinen und den Komplementfaktoren. Genetische Defekte des unspezifischen Abwehrsystems führen zu umschriebenen Krankheitsbildern, z.B. der Leukozytenadhäsionsdefizienz, der septischen Granulomatose, der angeborenen Agranulozytose oder dem Chediak-Higashi-Syndrom sowie Komplementdefekten.
