Zusammenfassung

Der Protein-C-Inhibitor (PCI) wurde erstmals 1980 von Marlar u. Griffin als ein Plasmaprotein beschrieben, das die Aktivität von aktiviertem Protein C hemmt. Mittlerweile ist bekannt, daß PCI noch eine Reihe anderer Serinproteasen inaktiviert und daher die Bezeichnung „Protein-C-Inhibitor“ irreführend ist.
