Abstract

Products of the reaction of Ga(CH2Si(CH3)3)3 with alkali metal hydrides were originally reported to be of the M[Ga(CH2Si(CH3)3)2] type, including a few adducts, and were believed to arise from reductive elimination of Si(CH3)4 from M[Ga(CH2Si(CH3)3)3H] intermediates [1]. But these results could not be reproduced later, and the products were identified as alkali metal compounds of the hydrido anion [Ga(CH2Si(CH3)3)3H]- [2]; see 13.2, p. 320.
