Abstract

Resonant cavities are basic microwave components that store electromagnetic energy. Microwave resonant cavities are known to have large quality factors. A rectangular cavity resonator is relatively easy to analyze, yet it provides physical insight into the resonance mechanism This section investigates wave resonance in a rectangular resonant cavity that is surrounded by electric walls.
