Zusammenfassung
Die Frage nach der Ursache der angeborenen Hüftluxation hat die Forscher von Anfang an beschäftigt. Zahlreiche Theorien wurden aufgestellt. Einen umfassenden Überblick der älteren Literatur brachten Schlegel (1961) im Handbuch der Orthopädie und Hauberg (1958) in seiner Monographie. Kurz zusammengefaßt, gab es bisher im wesentlichen 2 Theorien, von denen die eine die Ursache in mechanischen prä- und postnatalen Faktoren sieht und die andere in endogenen Faktoren wie beispielsweise einer primären Entwicklungshemmung des Hüftgelenks. In diese Richtung zielt auch die Vererbungsforschung. Im folgenden soll ein Überblick über die älteren und neueren Theorien gegeben werden.
