Abstract
This volume covers the available information on the carbonates, carbon-containing pseudohalides such as cyanides and thiocyanates, and the much more extensively documented alkyl oxides, aryl oxides, and carboxylates. A considerable number of carbon-containing thorium compounds is also described in “Thorium” Suppl. Vol. E, 1985, both as complexes with neutral ligands such as alcohols, amines or pyridine, and in combination with ligands such as diketones and Schiff bases. Examples are the oxodiacetate compound, Th(OOCCH2OCH2COO2)·3C5H5NO·3H2O, described on pp. 69 and 74, and the alkoxide compound Th[OC(CCl3(CH3)2]4·2py, described on pp. 12 and 14. The present volume deals with the compounds which contain only the “acidic” constituent, such as the “pure” oxodiacetates and alkoxides.
