Zusammenfassung
Wechselwirkungen des Ethanols mit Medikamenten oder anderen Fremdstoffen stellen ein häufiges Problem in der klinischen Praxis dar. So nehmen etwa 75% der 65jährigen regelmäßig Medikamente ein, und mehr als die Hälfte dieses Patientenkollektivs trinkt gelegentlich oder regelmäßig Ethanol. Das Problem der Ethanol-Medikamenten-Interaktion ist also nicht auf Gruppen mit entsprechenden Suchtproblemen beschränkt. Die potentiellen Wechselwirkungen betreffen dabei auch häufig verwendete, frei erhältliche Arzneimittel, wie z. B. Paracetamol oder Azetylsalizylsäure.
