Abstract
GvHD, as outlined before, can occur in a number of different clinical situations and under different pathogenetic conditions. However, GvHD most frequently is observed in the setting of allogeneic HSCT. These patients, almost without exception, receive some kind of immunosuppressive GvHD prophylaxis ( Table 3.1) after transplantation [ 75, 200, 245, 306, 350]. Therefore, today, the clinical features of GvHD often are modified by pretransplant conditioning and posttransplant prophylaxis [75, 200].
