Abstract
The production work concerning the Third Precise Levelling of Sweden is almost completed. The work has been going on for more than 20 years and throughout the whole project the Motorised Levelling technique (ML) was used. Motorised levelling has many advantages compared to classic levelling techniques, e.g. high accuracy even under unfavourable conditions, increased production rates and improved working environment.
This article presents ML and compares it with other levelling techniques. We also present the third precise levelling project which is the largest geodetic project in Sweden ever.
