The symmetrical form and positional anomalies of the mandible and its principal parts do not produce great difficulties in diagnosis or in therapy because of today’s diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities. However, as soon as the form of the mandible develops asymmetrically the diagnosis can become rather difficult.
