Abstract

The previous chapter was concerned with the problem of the spatial distribution of reflections from a crystal. The question must now be addressed as to how the various intensities associated with the reflections hkl arise. It will then become clear how the measurement of the intensities of a large number of reflections can reveal the arrangement of atoms in the unit cell.
