Prototype of an Interactive Multimedia Atlas of Austria

  • Chapter
Multimedia Cartography

Abstract

The Scientific Research Fund of Austria is the sponsor of a multidisciplinary five year research program entitled “Austria — Space and Society”. A section of this program called ‘Geoinformation Systems and Computer-Assisted Cartography’ was taken over by the Institute of Cartography and Reproduction Techniques (ICR) of the University of Technology in Vienna. In this co-operative effort the purpose of ICR is to create a series of maps for print and to develop an interactive atlas for the PC using data from the remaining partners of this research effort.
