Abstract
So far we have conveyed a sense of a new and vibrant field of biology, and pointed to many of the new paths that will indicate highways of the future. In this chapter we briefly revisit where proteomics fits in the overall scheme of biology, and also consider possible future scenarios and some alternative paths down which new avenues of research might go.
