Abstract
This paper presents three mathematical models developed by applying the Markov technique. Model I represents a single unit system operating under two types of fluctuating weather. It means the operational system has one normal operating state and two mutually exclusive weather dependent states. Model II represents a motor vehicle operating in fluctuating weather (i.e., normal, abnormal). The vehicle can fail either due to a human error or a hardware failure in either of the two up states (normal weather, abnormal weather). Model III represents a human operator working under alternating stress environments. The operator may commit an error under normal or stressful conditions. Reliability analyses for all the three models are developed using the Markov method.
