Abstract

The finite-element method leads to equations of motion, which describe the equilibrium of the forces and moments which act on the system. Each elastic force and moment appears as the product of an influence coefficient and a displacement, either translational or angular (rotational). In this way we can find all the terms on the left-hand side of the equations of motion. This means that the determination of the influence coefficients is very important. This will be explained in the following by a simple example and then a general case will be taken.
