Zusammenfassung
Erst in jüngster Zeit wurde auch in der deutschen Hochdruckforschung erkannt, daß Alkoholkonsum eine wesentliche Ursache vieler früher als „essentiell“ klassifizierter Hypertoniefälle ist [35, 37]. Obwohl seit 1915 diskutiert [44c] und seit einem Jahrzehnt vermehrt belegt [5a, 17, 18, 23, 33, 49, 65], wurde ein ursächlicher Zusammenhang in Frage gestellt. Statt dessen wurde postuliert, daß hoher Blutdruck und gesteigerter Alkoholkonsum auf einen dritten gemeinsamen Faktor zurückzuführen seien, z. B. Streß [7].
