Zusammenfassung
Neue Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien ermöglichen eine schrittweise Auflösung räumlicher und zeitlicher Gebundenheit wirtschaftlicher Wertschöpfungsprozesse. Das schafft neue Freiräume für organisatorische Innovation. Es erfordert aber auch Umdenken und Neukonzeption für weite Bereiche des betriebswirtschaftlichen Denkens. Heute spricht vieles dafür, daß der Arbeitsplatz am Unternehmensstandort immer weniger der geeignete Ort für die Aufgabenbewältigung ist. Einer räumlichen Neuorganisation von Unternehmen stehen jedoch zahlreiche Hemmnisse entgegen. Was also treibt und was bremst eine Restrukturierung von Unternehmen und Märkten? Drei unterschiedliche Blickwinkel weisen den Weg zur Beantwortung dieser Frage (vgl. Abb. 2–1).
