Abstract
Among the group III elements only the rhombohedral phases of boron show semiconducting properties. The main structure elements of its lattice are B12icosahedra (Fig. 1, p. 93). Structure of rhombohedral phases: Figs. 2, 3 (p. 93); Brillouin zone: Fig. 4 (p. 93); band structure of α-boron: Fig. 5 (p. 94).
