Trotz aller unterschiedlichen Auslegungen des Begriffs CIM gibt es eine gemeinsame Basis aller CIM-Aktionen. Das Ziel heißt: EDV-Einsatz und rechnerunterstützter Informationsfluß in allen mit dem Fabrikbetrieb befaßten Bereichen.
