Abstract
Epizoonoses are skin disorders caused by external animal parasites (ectoparasites). Epizoonoses in the strict sense are caused by parasites living on the skin surface (e.g., lice) but the term is also applied in a wider sense to conditions caused by animals not living on the skin (e.g., insect stings).
