Zusammenfassung
Wie alle technischen Metalle ist auch der Werkstoff Stahl vielkristallin, also aus einzelnen Kristallgittern aufgebaut. Deren Modifikationen werden im Stahl durch das Basiselement Eisen bestimmt. Reines Eisen kommt als kubisch-raumzentriertes α-Eisen (Ferrit) und oberhalb 911 °C als kubisch-flächenzentriertes γ-Eisen (Austenit) vor (Bleck, 2010).
