Zusammenfassung

Wissenschaftliche Abhandlungen über Gerüchte und Verschwörungstheorien neigen dazu, einem ähnlichen Muster zu folgen. In beiden Fällen beginnen sie mit der Voraussetzung, dass dem jeweiligen Phänomen kein Glauben geschenkt werden sollte. Alsdann versuchen sie, den rätselhaften Umstand zu erklären, warum viele Menschen (natürlich nicht der Autor oder der Leser) dennoch geneigt sind, an Gerüchte oder Verschwörungstheorien zu glauben.
