Zusammenfassung
Nicht selten findet sich für das Metaversum die Bezeichnung Post-Internet-Ära. Dieser Begriff „Post-Internet“ bezieht sich allerdings nicht auf eine Zeit nach dem Internet, sondern auf unser aktuelles Zeitalter, in dem das Internet derart allgegenwärtig und alltäglich geworden ist, dass es den Menschen kaum noch auffällt. Das Metaversum hingegen repräsentiert eine Innovation, die es erlaubt, Online-Räume zu kreieren, in denen Anwender multidimensional miteinander agieren können. Statt ausschließlich digitale Inhalte passiv zu konsumieren, sollen sich Benutzer in Besucher des Metaversums verwandeln, in dem sie in eine Welt eintauchen können, in der das Digitale und das Physische zu einer völlig neuen Erfahrung verschmelzen.
