Globalisierung und Migration im Wechselspiel

Zusammenfassung

Historisch haben Globalisierungsschübe den Austausch von Gütern und kulturellen Errungenschaften begünstigt und sie haben dazu beigetragen, die Neugier der Menschen nach Erforschung der unbekannten Ferne anzufachen. Zwischen Globalisierung und Völkerwanderungen besteht somit eine enge Wechselbeziehung, die in beide Richtungen wirkt. Jüngere Beispiele sind die koloniale Expansion im späten 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhundert sowie die kriegsbedingten Wanderungen im Laufe des 20. Jahrhunderts. In diesem Kapitel wird auf wichtige Globalisierungswellen hingewiesen, es werden markante Beispiele für Wanderungsströme angeführt und die Probleme erörtert, die Auswanderer in Herkunfts- und Zielländern auslösen bzw. selbst erleben.
