Zusammenfassung
Die Techniken des Semantic Web, Linked Data und Ontologie-basierte Systemarchitekturen gewinnen immer mehr an Bedeutung. Das zugehörige Themengebiet wird schon seit vielen Jahren wissenschaftlich bearbeitet. Die grundlegenden Methodiken und zugehörigen Publikationen sind teilweise über 20 Jahre alt. In jüngster Zeit rückt der Bereich der Wissensmodellierung wieder vermehrt in den Fokus, da insbesondere Entwicklungen im Bereich der Künstlichen Intelligenz und des Machine-Learning strukturierte, maschinenlesbare Abbildungen von vernetzten Informationen und Wissen benötigen. Auch im Bauwesen existieren Forschungsansätze, welche sich damit befassen durch den Einsatz von Ontologien und vernetzten Datenquellen Herausforderungen der Branche zu lösen und effizientere Arbeitsweisen zu ermöglichen. Wie in Kap. 4 beschrieben, führen fehlerhafter Datenaustausch und inkompatible Schnittstellen zu Brüchen im Informationsfluss entlang der Wertschöpfungskette im Bauwesen. Schwächen und Limitationen bestehender Systematiken wie dem Building Information Modeling (BIM) und der damit verbundenen, bereits beschriebenen Schnittstellen wie den Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) erfordern neue Ansätze in diesem Bereich, zu denen auch Ontologie-basierte Ansätze zählen. Um diese zu entwickeln, ist ein grundlegendes Verständnis der Begriffe Daten, Information und Wissen im Bauwesen erforderlich. In diesem Kapitel sollen daher diese grundlegenden Begriffe erläutert werden, und auf die Definition und Bedeutung von Ontologien im Zusammenhang mit dem Semantic Web eingegangen werden. Des Weiteren soll aufgezeigt werden, in welchen Bereichen des Bauwesens bereits erste Konzepte oder Ansätze vorliegen, auf denen aufgebaut werden kann. Zusätzlich wird erläutert, warum im Rahmen des Internet of Construction ein Ontologie-basierter Ansatz gewählt wurde und welche Lücke damit geschlossen werden soll.
