Zusammenfassung
Eine zentrale Frage in Bezug auf Führung ist, ob unterschiedliche Geschlechter ihre eigenen Führungsstile haben. Führen Frauen anders? Hier gibt es zwei ziemlich klare Sichtweisen: Die einen sagen, es gibt keine Unterschiede zwischen Frauen und Männern, die anderen sagen, die Führungsstile sind verschieden. Das muss kein Widerspruch sein. Grundsätzlich kann man davon ausgehen, dass alle Geschlechter Dinge nicht unterschiedlich tun, sondern dass ihr Verhalten unterschiedlich wahrgenommen wird. Dazu gibt es umfassende Literatur. Dies erleben wir auch selber, gibt beispielsweise zu bedenken: Wir kennen bestrafende, abwertende und sadistische Reaktionen auf Frauen in Führungspositionen, die wir bei Männern so nicht hören. Das kann man erweitern: Auch schwule Männer erleben andere Reaktionen als heterosexuelle, Women of Colour und Menschen mit bestimmten Religionen und Behinderungen müssen sich Dinge anhören, die anderen nicht gesagt werden. Im Mainstream der Forschung jedoch wird dies jedoch übersehen, wenn so getan wird, als wäre Führung unabhängig vom Geschlecht, von der Ethnizität, der Sexualität und so weiter.
